Getting on the Same Page
A dream awakens
It happened on the highway.
After a prolonged leg of the self reflection and discovery journey, I found myself in yet another rabbit hole of longing of my discovered truths while watching the Texas landscape woosh by (ze hubs was driving ):
• a deeply intertwined relationship with the land & nature = a must
• for my daily actions to be filled with purpose and direct reciprocity
• To be able to develop and nurture some sort of symbiotic relationship with my craft(s)
Suddenly my focus tunnel visioned on a field of grazing cows and two things became very clear :
• I wanted to pet their noses
• I was dreaming about a farm lifestyle
I stated as much with the ecstatic vagueness somewhere along the line of
“I think I want a cow farm”
My husband, ever helping me ground my far fetched ideas into the realms of reality, guided my thoughts towards sheep given the factors of size and maintenance AND my whole weaving habit.
(I'd been, and am, following a bone deep calling to learn the art of weaving in all its nuances for a minute.)
Ideas, longings, and habits started rapidly fitting together after this and we spent the rest of the roadtrip in a brainstorming and Google searching deep dive, all the while letting the enchantment of the baaa take root.
(Was/is part of my husband's enthusiasm for the plan that my longings no longer needed to be corralled from attuning with nature = completely disappearing into the wild? Perhaps…)
And thus the

10 year plan
was formed.
Note - there is a special magic in having such a longterm plan that is completely shifting priorities, goal endurance and how we move and act in slow burn preparation.
It is wild and wonderful to witness and experience.
A lot of the magic of our plan lies in patience and slow growth perseverance. (Lessons in themselves )
My current focus, and what will probably be most documented - for now, is a series of “earning the heard” learning milestones.
Including:
• Keep weaving!
• learn to tapestry
• learn to knit
• learn to process fiber
• learn to spin yarn
• find out - hands on sheep farm/ farm learning experiences?
• develop fiber plant relationships:
(SLOWLY )
Luffa (put herself in the front - another story)
Cotton
Flax
Willow
• ALL the sheep study homework.
Onwards and upwards!
